A computer tune-up consists of three parts:

  1. Run Disk-Cleanup.
    • This eliminates unnecessary and unused files.
    • Is done with discretion based on users needs.

  2. Check disk for errors.
    • Program ran to check disk is based on users operating system (Windows/95/98/ME/XP/2000/Vista).
    • Corrects users files and indexes.

  3. Defragment computer.
    • Puts files on computer in order for easy access.
    • On smaller hard drives this will improve access time and speed up the computer

A computer tune-up should be done once a month.
